Molly Thomason - Singer-Songwriter From the Maritimes

Thomason is a young, vibrant singer-songwriter from the Maritimes. Her voice is full of strength and soul, reminiscent of a young Melissa Etheridge.

Beauty Queen is an album that Molly Thomason wrote and recorded in 2010. It was released in 2010 and was a huge success for her. The album garnered a lot of attention including two Music Nova Scotia nominations, a placement on Degrassi and two #1's on the east coast countdown.

As well as being a song writer, Molly is also an incredibly talented singer. She has a voice that is unmistakable, and her songs are often emotionally-driven.

Never Felt A Thing

There’s no denying that Nova Scotian Molly Thomason is a talented songwriter, but it’s her flamboyant personality that will get the kudos. Her most recent single topped the charts on the Canadian national radio charts for several weeks and she was also an etee winner in the Best Female Artist category at the 2014 Atlantic Music Awards. On stage she is joined by a bevy of talented session players including a whopping three female frontmen.

Thomason is a singer-songwriter, a 16 year old who’s a teen in every way and she’s also an accomplished one. Her debut album Through the Static was recorded when she was only 14; she nabbed two Music Nova Scotia awards and has recently released her second full-length, Beauty Queen.

There’s a plethora of styles on Beauty Queen, a few girl-and-guitar numbers and one '50s doo-wop track, a Taylor Swiftian country detour and straight pop rock filling the rest. It’s an eclectic record bolstered by Thomason’s clear, surprising vocal strength.

Thomason has a strong clinical practice with a wide range of clients, primarily working in the field of neuropsychology and specializing in the assessment of children and adolescents with a variety of conditions including prematurity, developmental delays, learning disabilities, attention difficulties, behavioral problems, anxiety disorders, and mood concerns. Her treatment focuses on cognitive rehabilitation and implementing evidence-based interventions (i.e., cognitive-behavioral therapy, problem-solving skills training, parent management training) to address these conditions.
